I have an
amazing opportunity for any business operator in the NY/NJ/Eastern
PA area who has some willingness to take a gamble and some foresight.
Due to the vaguries
of the economy and my circumstances, I'm actively searching for
employment.
My upsides - Not only
do you get a computer programmer who's familiar with a half dozen
languages and a number of operating systems (All versions of Windows
excluding 2k, Several linux distributions, including Red Hat and
SuSE, even DOS and OS/2 (which are still in wide use in factories
- don't laugh)), wired & wireless networking, and the ability
to build and repair standard and custon PCs and I don't even know
what applications packages any more (Any attempt at listing them
would be incomplete - the number exceeds one hundred if you include
vertical applications as well as commercial business applications).
The full range of Internet services too, including the ones you
may not even know about. Ask me if you can do something - the
answer will probably surprise you!
But I bring much more
than that to the table. Significant background in retail sales,
familiarity with medical office management, familiarity with standard
office management, some background in the repair and modification
of machine tools. Auto repair, excellent driving record, carpentry
(rough and fine), plumbing, electrician (unlicensed but I can
at least tell you when it's time to call a real electrician as
opposed to you paying a real electrician to come replace a fuse.),
fair welder. Some experience specifying, installing and repairing
telephone systems, AV systems, and multimedia systems.
Bottom line - I'm
not necessarily interested in remaining a computer only type.
Overqualified is a dirty word and I'm tired of solving the same
set of problems over and over and over.... Use
any or all of my abilities (the more the better, I'm bored to
tears!) and I'm not afraid of dirt.
My Downside. I have
a family situation - my wife works full time in NYC and isn't
available in the event my son cannot attend school for whatever
reason... Which leaves me.
My available hours
are on the limited side because there is no flex in her schedule
(She's a teacher). There will come a day when I'll need to take
time off, and it probably won't be convenient for you. Which is
why I'm offering you this deal - I haven't worked for less than
$70.00 per hour plus benefits in over a decade. Meet $25.00 per
hour (hourly, not salary - you don't need to pay me when I'm not
there), accept the limited hours I've got available (roughly 9:00
am to 4:00 pm, but that is variable) and tolerate the occasional
absence and I'm yours. And since I know exactly what I'm asking,
you're also going to receive something that's largely obsolete
in these years - company loyalty.
If you have any questions
(I really didn't cover all of my current abilities and I'm an
extraordinarily fast learner if you need something I don't already
know) please call 973-575-3357 or email cocke@catherders.com
I have several resumes depending on what I'm applying for. I'm
told that for some reason, people interested in hiring aren't
interested in seeing all of the qualifications of the prospective
hire. Drop me an Email indicating what you have in mind and I'll
extract two or three pages of appropriate information from what
is currently shaping up to be a short novel.
